District & Sessions Judge, a member of Superior Judicial Services of Bihar Judicial Service, is the administrative head of the Civil & Sessions Division in the state. Another officer of similar rank is posted in the Judgeship as Principal Judge, Family court. All the ministerial staff of the subordinate courts of the civil and sessions division is under the immediate administrative control of Distt. & Sessions Judge. He is also the disciplinary authority in respect of ministerial staff. All correspondence to the Hon’ble High Court & the Govt. is done in the name of District & Sessions Judge. In order to assist the Distt. & Sessions Judge, a section traditionally named as ‘English Section’ works.
